Torekov, at the end of the Bjäre Peninsula, is a fishing village in Bastad Municipality on the south-west coast of Sweden. The topography of this region consists of various types of shorelines, beaches, meadows, boulder shores and cliffs and has a wide variety of flora and fauna.
This place experiences a relatively mild climate. Sweden is shielded from the Atlantic low pressures by the land masses of neighbouring Norway, Britain and Denmark. In summer, the high pressure from Russia results in warm and sunny days.
It is towards the late nineteenth century that Torekov emerged as a popular tourist destination. It retains several guesthouses and cafes from that period. With a small fishing fleet and several tourist attractions, this town of about 900 inhabitants is an idyllic location for a calm and refreshing holiday.
