Torekov: Attractions and more...
Perhaps the best thing one can enjoy in Torekov is a refreshing seaweed bath at the renowned ‘Warmbadhus’ spa. Also, the seaside restaurants and cafes are an ideal place to spend a sunny Swedish day. Do not forget to sample the delicious seafood dishes and some local specialities like herring with fresh potatoes and snaps or the asparagus.
Among the monumental attractions, there is the Maritime Museum housed in a part of an old ship, and a smaller museum called ‘The Shed’ which has the nameplates of many ships that have sailed down the Torekov coast. Located nearby is the ceramic factory, Rosa Ljung.
Take a ferry to Hallands Väderö, just outside Torekov. This island has about 600 species of plants, a wide variety of birds and many beaches. There is also a lighthouse here and the remains of an ancient monastery.
Some of the events and festivals in this town are held in Hallands Väderö. There is the Harbour Festival, Hamnfesten, and a Restaurant Week.
