Reviews Linnaeus Garden and Museum
Linnaeus Garden and Museum
Linnaeus Garden is named after the great professor and scientist Carl Linnaeus. He is the father of modern botany. He developed this futuristic research garden in the 1700s.
He was responsible for the double name concept (Genus and Species) of the plant kingdom. The garden was laid out by Linnaeus himself.
His home was converted into a museum in 1937. It showcases the furniture, textiles, crystal and a medicine chest used by him and his family.
The Linnaeus garden is the first botanical garden of Sweden displaying around 1300 varieties today. Usually the garden is open for tours from mid June to mid September every year. The opening hours are 11.00 am to 8.00 pm with an entry fee of 50 Swedish Krona. Entry is free for children under sixteen years.
