Museum of Fine Arts Bern
Museum of Fine Arts Bern is situated at Hodlerstrasse 8 – 12, 3011 Bern. It is closed on Mondays. On Tuesdays it operates from 10:00 to 21:00 hrs and from Wednesday to Sunday it remains open from 10:00 to 17:00 hrs.
The museum employs an extensive and distinguished collection in Switzerland. More than 3000 paintings and sculptures, 55000 drawings, photographs, prints, films and videos are displayed in the museum.
This vast collection comprises of artwork from Italian Trecento, Swiss Art, 19th and 20th century international paintings emphasizing on Pablo Picasso and Wassily Kandinsky.
Art trends from national (Markus Rartz, Meret Oppenheim, Franz Gertsch) and international artists (Jackson Pollock) are also displayed. There is an in-house café-bar as well as art bookshop.
Kustmuseum Cinema programs are held every weekend. In the spring of 2008, the museum plans to host the most-extensive Hodler exhibition.
