Crans-Montana, popularly known as Crans sur Sierre, is located in Valais, Switzerland. The city was formed as a result of the merger of two villages, Crans and Montana. With a population of around 4,500 inhabitants, the region is a popular tourist destination attracting people from all over the globe.
Despite being located at a very high altitude, Crans-Montana has an ideal Mediterranean climate, characterised by sunny days, less rainfall and minimal snowfall. The best time to visit the city is during summer, autumn and spring.
Initially structured as two distinct villages of Crans and Montana, the regions were combined into one unique location in the 1960s. Today, the city of Crans-Montana is one of the most sought after winter destinations in Switzerland.
