With a diverse culture, Switzerland is the venue for numerous events and festivals. The Art Basel festival, held every year in Basel, is the favoured destination for art lovers from around the world. Switzerland hosts one of the leading golf tournaments—Omega European Masters. Another sports event looked forward to every January is the Cartier Polo World Cup.
Celebrated for the past fifty-seven years, the Locarno Film Festival is one of the best international film festivals in the world. It has countries participating from all over the world. Music is much appreciated in by the Swiss. One of the best symphony orchestra music festivals, the Lucerne Festival, is held here in Lucerne. Montreux hosts the Montreux Jazz Festival. Due to its popularity, it is not only limited to jazz music, but also features blues, rock, rap etc.
