Kunsthaus Zürich is the Museum of Modern Art in Zurich. It is a large museum dedicated to the panorama of modern art themes and techniques and is well worth a look if you are in the city for a few days. In particular the museum has an excellent art education programme with, which includes school programs, continued learning classes as well as leisure time classes, serves children, adolescents and adults. A well-rehearsed team of professional art educators and art historians welcomes you at the Kunsthaus and can help to open up the pieces on display with their genuinely impressive range of specialist knowledge.
On top of this the museum also has an attendant library, the Kunsthaus Zürich is a special library for modern art. The collection profile is focused on publications about art from the 19th to the 21st century. The stock of the library includes more than 244'000 volumes. Currently the library holds more than 320 subscriptions to journals in art history. For families with children this can also be a useful stopping off point as it runs open paint workshops where all ages, including the parents, can get involved.
The museum is open Sat/Sun/Tues 10 a.m.–6 p.m. And Wed–Fri 10 a.m.–8 p.m. And is closed on Mondays.
