Tourist Guide Alanya
Alanya is located on the southern coast of Turkey, along the Mediterranean Sea. This seaside resort town of approximately 400,000 inhabitants is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the country.
Most of the old city lies on the rocky peninsula that juts out into the sea. Alanya has a varied topography with some of the best beaches in the country on one side and the towering Taurus Mountains at the other end.
Alanya experiences a continental Mediterranean climate. During winter, the average temperature is 16°C; rainfall is concentrated during this time. Summer is hot and dry with the average temperature from May to October ranging between 25°C and 31°C.
The city enjoyed a golden period during the Middle Ages when most of the development and construction took place.
