Perge is a lower town which was once encircled by walls which fortified with the towers and is bounded by a 165 feet hill where the acropolis was built. Over here, some of the oldest buildings stood. At present, there are ruins of the plateau and this was thought to be of Temple of Artemis. Some of the site is marshy and one can even get to see the remains of the two round towers which belonged to a gateway of the Hellenistic period.
