Reviews Topkapi Palace
Topkapi Palace
Topkapi Palace was home to many Ottoman Sultans until the Abdulmecid I reign, in a period of four centuries. The construction of the palace was by Mehmed II in 1453. This palace was then an ancient olive grove and covered an area of 700 square meters. It was enclosed with walls that were 1400 meters long length. This historic building is worth visiting.
Topkapi Palace
A fine collection of relics from the Ottoman past, and the cafe on the seafront. The hour standing in the ticket queue was trying, but once inside, it was an hour well-spent. From horse-drawn carriages, jewels, ceramics and relics from Islamic history there's a lot to see and study. I did not go to the harem though.
