Sultanahmet District is situated in the heart of historic place of Old Istanbul and called as ‘Stamboul’ by the 19th century travelers. One can find Topkapi Palace, the Byzantine Hippodrome, the Blue Mosque and many other historic places at this district. This district is the best base for sightseeing in Istanbul. There are many hotels which are a few minutes stroll from some major sights.
