The beaches in Marmaris, in most of the resort hotels, are covered with coarse black sand. Many resorts have private beaches which can be enjoyed by the guests staying in the hotel.
Cleopatra Island has beaches which have the best sand in the world and Icmeler beach, which is just a fifteen minute drive from Marmaris, is a beach which is wide and quiet.
The Icmeler Resort, which is situated at the end of Marmaris bay, is famous for its spring waters which have medicinal properties.
There are several water sport activities available here such as jet skis, windsurfing, parasailing and others.
The warm blue, clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea form a nice, quiet ambience for those who enjoy swimming against a peaceful background.
There are a number of beach bars, cafes and shops for the entertainment of people who visit the beaches and resorts as well.
