New Forest is the largest open pastureland in southern England; it was declared a national park in March 2005.
The magnificent natural beauty of the region attracts thousands of tourists from all over the world. Its terrain is excellent for walking as well as for horse riding. This park is home to a diverse range of wildlife and some of them are rare and endangered species, for instance, the sand lizard, honey buzzard, the wild gladiolus etc. On the banks of the River Beaulieu is the Bucklers Hard which is a must-visit site. The Beaulieu is another major attraction at the national park. It houses the Palace House and also the British National Motor Museum. The New Forest Reptile Centre has a collection of a variety of reptiles and a short trip to it is a must. |
