Bolventor is a very small village, which lies in the centre of Bodmin Moor in Cornwall, England.
It is sparsely populated and the parish is named after the Bold Venture, which was the task of establishing a farmland on this place. The place gives beautiful views of the moor including the main tors, Brown Willy and Rough Tor.
The novel Jamaica Inn has been written based on the coaching house which has existed here for a long time.
The climate is humid and mild and more on the cooler side.
The moorland areas are all ideal for plants which require a wet and acidic condition such as cotton. Bog asphodel is a variety of golden flower which grows here in mid summer owing to the damp condition.
