The highest point of attraction of Christchurch is the Christchurch Priory. This is a former priory and current parish church, which was built in the 11th century. In 1999, the priory celebrated its 900th anniversary. In the memory of this day, a window was installed in the priory which displays a starry night.
Christchurch Castle is one of the historical remains in the town. The initial name of the castle was Norman Mott and Bailey Castle. The castle was built by Richard de Redvers in the year 1100. The huge tower was constructed in Christchurch castle in 1300. However, the castle is now in ruins.
