Dartmouth is a town with a population of more than five thousand people which is situated on the banks of the Dart River in Devon which lies to the south west of England.
The town played an important part as a port for sailing fleets and was the home of the English navy in the past. This place houses a Royal Naval College.
The half timbered houses, narrow cobbled streets and the natural harbour are some of the attractions here. Recently a number of hotels, marinas, cafes, galleries and antique shops have come up in the area.
The Greenway estate has a beautiful garden and was once the residence of Agatha Christie, the famous novelist. In summer the Annual Royal Regatta is held at the Royal Naval College.
This includes rowing events, aerobatics and fireworks as well. The town enjoys a maritime temperate climate with warm summers and mild winters.
