Dorchester lies in the southern part of Dorset in England and is located on the Frome River.
This market town has a population of more than sixteen thousand people and was a major political and commercial centre for the southern part of Dorset with its textile and manufacturing units.
The varied coastline which begins in the Poole Harbour and includes the Purbeck coastline is a site of several natural reserves and marine parks. It has a mixed topography of extensive streams and rivers in the east to hilly regions and fields on the west.
Being in the coastal area the city has a humid climate but has a warm and sunny summer and cool winters. However, the city has pleasant weather throughout the year.
