St. Oswald is a Parish church with a 212 ft high spire which was built in 1340 and is referred to as the ‘finest single spire in England’, by George Eliot.
The church has fine stained glass windows, a gateway set with carved skulls, many alabaster tombs and monuments, the graveyard with tombs of popular warriors and the chancel which is the oldest part of the church with twelve lancet windows.
Chatsworth House is an historic house with a fantastic farmyard with animals, a spectacular park and garden and a beautiful water feature. The Duke and Duchess of Devonshire live here and have opened the house visitors.
Derwent Crystal is a crystal glass factory started in 1980, which produces all kind of crystal glassware including bowls, vases and tables and more. They are makers of lead crystal glassware using traditional skills of handcraft including hand blown glass which adds a personal touch to the articles made here.
