Deene Park
It is actually a big 16th century manor converted into a medieval mansion. It is being constructed along the courtyard and during the rule of George 111, important rooms were added. This house belonged to the Brundenell family originally. It is the current residence of Hon. Mrs. Brundenell and Mr. Edmund. The rooms which are kept open for visitors are still regularly used. Here you shall get to see a varied collection of the family possessions and portraits.
Fermyn Woods Country Park
This park is maintained for the purpose of safeguarding the wildlife and also for the benefit for mankind. The large man made as well as natural habitats of the park has grasslands with ancient woodland. Its ponds serve as a habitat for the dragonflies, sticklebacks. It’s a home to wildlife of all kinds, the flora and fauna both. It is the main country park in the county, and is an access to the earliest Rockingham Forest.
Rockingham Castle:
This, originally a royal castle, and also hunting lodge, was built under the instruction of William the Conqueror. It is now a home to the Saunders Watson family. It is a situated near the Rockingham Forest. Formerly, it was a Saxon fort. A Cricket pitch is found within the grounds of the castle, and is also home to the Old Eastonians Cricket Club.
