Hope Valley is a beautiful rural location in Derbyshire County in the Peak district. The valley was given its name after Hope village, which is situated in it. The Hope village and valley are situated in England’s northern Midlands.
The place is famous for its ancient history and mesmerizing natural beauty. The valley’s official name is Derwent Valley. However, the local residents continue to call this place Hope valley. Though the name suggests that the Hope valley is a single valley; the river changes name as it enters different regions.
Initially the valley begins below the Mam Tor, situated at Castleton. Mam Tor or the Shivering Mountain is a 517 meter high peak. As the river flows through various parts it bears names like Peakshole Water, River Noe and River Derwent.
The Hope Valley experiences pleasant temperate climate throughout the year. Here, the winters are warm and summers are humid and hot. Visitors can experience two entirely different seasons in this place.
The warm dry season lasts between May and October, while the tropical summer occurs from November to April.
