Lakeside Arts Center
Lakeside Arts Center is about 4 miles from Long Eaton. It lies in the friendly surroundings of Highfields Park and is a unique public arts facility of the University of Nottingham. Till date, this Center has established itself as a successful multi-arts center and in the first 3 years has enticed about 0.5 million visitors. Throughout the year there are programs related to literature, comedy, dance, theater, music as well as several exhibitions. There is also a beautiful parkland and two enticing cafes. The Wallner Gallery is open from 10:00 to 17:00 (Monday to Saturday) and 12:00 to 16:00 (Sundays and Bank Holidays). The Weston Gallery is open 11:00 to 16:00 (Monday to Friday) and 12:00 to 16:00 (Sundays, Saturdays, Bank Holidays). The Djanogly Art Gallery is open 11:00 to 17:00 (Monday to Saturday) and 12:00 to 16:00 (Sundays and Bank Holidays).
Framework Knitters Museum
The Framework Knitters Museum is situated at a distance of 5 miles from Long Eaton. Here, the visitors can view restored 19th century frameshops, cottages and workshops where there are handframes which are in working condition. The visitors can attempt some knitting skills on some working circular sock machines. This museum throws light on the labor and life of the 19th century framework knitting community. One can get a feel of the sound and sight of working machinery.
