Waltham on the Wolds is a typical, neat and clean English village. There are several historical buildings and monuments located in here. The village’s spirituality is revealed in the parish church of St. Mary Magdalene.
The village is famous for the Waltham centre of Pet Nutrition. This traditional village has a bit of modernity as well. There are two pubs in the village named the Royal Horseshoes and the Marquis of Granby.
Tourists visiting the village can enjoy excursions to nearby destinations. The Melton Carnegie Museum located at Thorpe End is one such tourist spot. The history of Melton Mowbray unfolds before you in this museum. The museum is located in the Andrew Carnegie Library, which was constructed in 1905.
Belvoir Castle is yet another tourist attraction near Waltham on the Wolds. The castle was the ancestral house of the Duke and Duchess of Rutland for more than 1,000 years. Currently the castle is owned by the 11th Duke and Duchess and their family.
The castle houses the Queen’s Royal Lancers Museum which was developed in 1964.
