Anglesey Abbey - Attractions in Cambridge

Anglesey Abbey is a country house situated in the northeast of Cambridge dating back to the 18th century. It is open to the public at a charge, but some parts are still private property.

The house has fine examples of furniture, silver, tapestries and a large collection of clocks. The house is divided into two, the Living Room and the Oak Room.

There are many paintings worth seeing inside the house. A 93 acre garden and an arboretum with more than 100 sculptures surrounds the house.

The garden is divided into 23 exclusive garden rooms, each having their own style, including Pinetum, Oak Avenue, the Cyclamen Path, the formal garden and the Narcissus Garden.

An all-year-round floral display is an additional feature of the garden with the Rose garden and the Dahlia garden and the variety of wildflowers.

Quarry Pool is a large pool said to have been a prehistoric mine. The historic Lode Water Mill, mills the flour for sale to visitors.
