RAF Henlow is the Royal Air Force station which houses the 616 volunteer gliding squadron, the centre of Aviation Medicine and the RAF signals museum.
There is a flying school and a civilian airstrip which operate from this site as well.
There are a number of facilities here that are open to the public for use such as the bowling alley, golf course, swimming pool and gym.
St. Mary’s church is an edifice of stone consisting of a south porch, aisles, clerestoried nave, chancel and a massive tower of five bells. The church dedicated to the Virgin Mary is set above the pit with the village pump in the forefront.
Letchworth Museum and Art Gallery which started in 1914 houses a number of paintings, craft artefacts and photography, Roman pottery and jewellery and more.
There is a wildlife gallery below which depicts actual wildlife in realistic settings along with displays of the geology of this location.
