Long Melford is the civil parish located in Suffolk County, Babergh District in the East Anglia region of England, UK. This large village has existed since ancient times.
Essex County borders the village along with the River Stour. Colchester town is located about 16 miles away, while Bury St Edmunds lies about 14 miles from the village of Long Melford.
There are two hamlets included in this civil parish namely, Cuckoo Tye and Bridge Street. There are enormous numbers of antique shops present in the village, which attract many tourists.
The village has a population of 3,675 people. Since it is located in the eastern part of England, Long Melford experiences a continental temperate climate. Due to this, the winters get really harsh. The summers are pleasant and warm.
