Newmarket is a lively market town located in Suffolk County, Forest Health District in England, UK. The small town lies about 65 miles from London on the northern side.
Newmarket town has undergone a lot of development recently. The reason behind it is its connection with thoroughbred horse racing and race horses. The racecourse in Newmarket is the largest training centre for race horses in Britain. Hence, several horse racing institutions have been established near the racecourse.
Newmarket is located completely outside the town. Only a thin strip of land connects the town with the remaining county. The average population in the town was 14,995 in 2001.
