Since it is the home of the largest racecourse, people come here to see the races. The Jockey Club Room is located on the High Street in Newmarket. Some of the richest and prestigious horse racers and breeders opened this club in 1752.
This was the place where people discussed issues relating to horse racing. It is a magnificent structure and must be visited.
The King Edward VII Memorial Hall and Gardens are also situated on the High Street in the town. The hall was constructed with the support of Charles II. In 1911, the enchanting King Edward VII Memorial Hall was given to Newmarket town by Sir Ernest Cassel. The gardens behind the hall hold a huge collection of varieties of flowers and trees.
The National Horse Racing Museum is situated adjacent to the Jockey Club. The development of horse racing is represented in the museum through various pictures, artefacts and documents.
