South Bank can be referred to as a region located in London upon River Thamess southern bank adjoining Waterloo Station which goes on to house several significant cultural institutions/buildings. The length of South Bank is around 5 sq. Km.
This place was the center of attraction in the year 1951; thanks to occurrence of Festival of Britain, that went on to propose its name for post-war Urban Regeneration Project. This area was known by the names Lower Marsh and Lambeth Marsh before. The present scenario is such that its the quickest-growing section of London.
South Bank is now known as a locale consisting of contemporary cultural center with various concert, gallery, and theater halls. This region, being situated on the banks of river, is full of green lands and pastures.
Winter would prove to be the best period to visit it, as river would dry away in summer, thereby creating barren land.
