Welwyn Roman Baths
The above-mentioned Roman remains had been excavated prior to construction of A1 (M). Since then, preservation on their part has taken place in ‘steel vault’ within ‘motorway embankment’. This site goes on to house a ‘Roman bathing suite’, which is the sole surviving portion of century villa belonging to the 3rd century. The preserved cold and hot baths and rooms go on to provide insight in to the way Romans used bathe.
