London City Airport is situated opposite the Regatta Centre in London in the Borough of Newham in East London.

This is the 5th largest international airport in London and has a plan of phased expansion to accommodate a maximum passenger capacity of 8 million people per year without an additional runway.

At present the airport is small when compared to the other four international airports in London, however, it is widely accessed by both leisure as well as business travellers from London’s docklands.

The airport has 10 gates and the terminal area has 22 check in sites and twelve self serving kiosks for flights such as Lufthansa, Air France, SAS and British Airways.

The airport is busiest in winter due to an increase in flights to the ski resorts operated by the Swiss International Air Lines and increases its passenger numbers as well.

In 2005 the airport was named by the European Business Air News as the ‘Best corporate aviation passenger handling facility in Europe’.
