Styled to be the surfing capital of Britain, Newquay has sandy beaches, exhilarating water sports, excellent coral reef and more. The Fistral Beach is Newquay’s most popular sandy turf noted for its recreational options like surfing and swimming. It also hosts many international surfing competitions in summer.
Overlooking the popular Fistral Beach is the Blue Reef Aquarium, which has a magnificent collection of marine life from the Mediterranean waters. The highlights of this aquarium are the reef sharks, stingrays and eels, which can be viewed by taking a walk through the tunnel.
The Padstow-Obby Oss Festival is a famous annual event and one of the oldest dance festivals in Europe. There are colourful dance performances accompanied by parades which are led by the Oss, who is a huge monster wearing a large, scary mask.
An educating and entertaining place is the Newquay Zoo, where visitors can enjoy close encounters with exotic animals.
