Oriental Museum can be described as the Asian antiquities, art, and ‘material culture' museum of ‘University of Durham’. It had been opened in the year 1960, with the objective of housing and displaying a noteworthy collection; that too, of international renown, thereby having covered the whole range of pre-history as well as history from cultures and civilizations of Egypt, Asia, Mid-East, and ‘Islamic North Africa’.
