Ashby Museum was initially opened in 1982 but was again renovated in 2007 along with a two-storey extension housing a community room and exhibition galleries. It is being run by a group of trustees along with the support of 50 volunteers. The museum has won the Leicestershire Heritage Award for best exhibitions in 2001 and 2003 and 2005. The museum contains a huge collection of books under topics like Education, Agriculture, Industry, Military, Health, Recreation and Arts.
