Bramhall is an area of the Metropolitan Borough of Stockport situated in Greater Manchester in England.
It has over population of 55,953.
The manor of Bramall dates back to the Saxon period when it was 2 separate manors owned by two Saxon freemen. However, in 1070, William, a Conqueror subdued the North West side of England and divided this land among his followers. Earliest reference to Bramall was recorded in the Domesday Book as Bramale, which is derived from the Old English words “brom” which means broom and both are indigenous to the area and “Halh” which means a secret place probably by water.
Bramhall is a part of the parliamentary constituency of Cheadle. One can travel through the Bramhall railway station which is the main line from Manchester to London by traveling through Macclesfield and Stoke on Trent stations. These local trains stop per hour during the week days on their way to or from Manchester.
