Leyland can be described as a town located in Lancashire’s South Ribble borough, England. Leyland lies at an approximate distance of 10 Km on the southern side of Preston.
Geographically, Leyland has been divided in to divisions/suburbs as follows: Leyland Town center, Broadfield, i.e. between Moss Side and Leyland, Worden Park, Moss Side, i.e. western side, Midge Hall, Wade Hall, i.e. a huge council ‘housing estate located in southern part of Leyland, Earnshaw Bridge, i.e. a region on Leyland’s northern outskirts, Seven Stars, Golden hill, Farington Moss, and Turpin Green.
Leyland is primarily known for Leyland Motors, i.e. manufacturer of trucks and buses. This company went on to expand between 50s and 70s; thereby having grown to have owned loads of motor manufacturers of British origin; inclusive of Standard-Triumph, and ‘Rover’ culminating in massive BL.
