Manchester Town Hall is the government building used for administrative functions.

The building was completed in 1877 by Alfred Waterhouse, the famous UK architect.

One can see the finest modern example of Victorian Gothic renovation in the construction.

Ford Maddox Brown's murals also feature in this structure. The murals are based on several subjects such as Christianity, the textile industry and commerce.

The hall is decorated with 12 statues on its external edge. These statues include Gnaeus Julius Agricola, Henry III of England, Saint George and Elizabeth I of England.

The entrance hall of this building is also adorned with several magnificent statues. These include a statue of John Dalton and of James Prescott Joule.

The splendid structure is topped by a 280 feet tall bell tower. It has 23 bells.

The clock in the bell tower is by Gillett and Bland. The surface of the clock bears the words, 'Teach us to number our days'.

Visitors can view the exteriors and some parts of the interiors of this hall.
