Salford: Attractions and more...

The city of Salford is famous for several skyscrapers and tall structures. It is a well established city, where all kinds of modern facilities and amenities. Most of these tall buildings are residential towers. These towers were constructed in the mid 20th century.

The Brutalist architectural pattern is predominant in all these constructions.

The tallest construction in Salford is the North Tower which is 262 feet high. Surprisingly, this tall structure is the oldest building in Salford and was built in 1966.

Salford Cathedral is also listed in the tallest structures in the city. The cathedral church of St. John is a Roman Catholic Church, built between 1844 and 1848.The cathedral is a magnificent structure, designed by Matthew Ellison Hadfield of Weighman. The church is located near Manchester City Center and should be visited.

The Lowry is a 50 meters high theatre and art gallery. It is located ay Salford Quay. It includes two theatres and one drama studio. Various touring plays are hosted in here.
