It is known as the birthplace of the tourism industry in Britain.
The town is situated on the banks on the River Wye from where it takes its name Ross-on-Wye. This town is bordered by the Forest of Dean on the northern edge.
Large numbers of antique shops are located in the market of Ross-on-Wye.
The market town is densely populated with 8,000 residents, as per the 2001 census. Due to its geographical location, the village experiences warm summers. However, the winters are colder than other parts of the country.
