Kemp Town is the historical residential area in Brighton city.

This residential area was developed in the 19th century, by Thomas Read Kemp.

Kemp Town also refers to the larger region in Brighton, with the name, Kemptown.

Though the town was structured in the 19th century, traces of habitation have been found dating back 250,000 years.

It was a causeway camp in the Neolithic era. The residential area is special because each of the buildings in this area is carefully designed and carved.

The houses were designed by Amon Henry Wilds and Charles Busby. The designer duo designed various affluent houses which were named after several cities in England.

These include the Sussex Square, Lewes Crescent, Chichester Terrace and Arundel Terrace.

Out of these, Sussex Square, is larger in size than London's Grosvenor Square.

Visitors can see fine examples of Regency architecture in this town.
