Ditchling is a village situated in the Lewes district in the eastern part of Sussex, England. The village is located at the foot of South Downs in the East and is very close to the border of West Sussex. The village is surrounded by Brighton to the south, Burgess Hill to the north, Hassocks to the west and Lewes to the east. There are many rivers nearby this village, the most famous one being the River Adur that flows on to the English Channel. It is a moderately populated village in East Sussex. According to the 2001 census the village recorded a population of 1802 which has increased to about 2000 in the 2007 census. The total area of the village is about 10.0 square kilometers. The village has a very cool and pleasant climate because of its geographical location. The city experiences a temperature of about 10 degrees and often suffers from rainfall. Schools are not that good so students have to migrate to the nearby towns for educational purpose.
