The Newtimber Place is Situated about 12 km to the north of Brighton. This is a house with a moat that has a defensive narrow excavation around the castle which is built up of flint stones and bricks. Originally the house was built by Richard Bellingham's son, a Chief Executive Officer of Sussex in 1567. An attractive feature of the house is the stylish wall paintings spread in 50 feet wide area. There are no shops or pubs nearby but only a church is situated there.
