Dorking is a famous market town located in the Mole Valley District, Surrey County in England, UK.
The town is situated about 25 miles from London in the lower region of the North Downs.
The River Mole is located on the northern side of the town. Dorking lies in the steep sided valley formed by the river Mole.
Denbies Vineyard is located on the left side of the river while the Box Hill, which is UK’s original Country Park, is situated on the right bank of the river. One can see rare orchids on this hill in the summer.
The population of the town is 17,000 residents, as per the 2001 census.
Since Dorking is located in the South East region of England it has a continental temperate climate.
The summers are warm, while the winters are cold. The air masses are dry and warm. The best time to visit the area is in summer.
