Henley-on-Thames lies on the banks of the Thames River in the south of Oxfordshire in the south east of England.
The town has a population of 10,646 inhabitants and is an excellent base to commute to London for people who do not live there.
The town experiences a dry and sunny climate, and is pleasant to visit at any time of the year. It is located in picturesque surroundings and there is plenty to do in this beautiful market town situated on a scenic stretch of the Thames River.
The famous Henley Royal Regatta is held here in June and July, adding life to the town with its fireworks display and rowing events. The town prospered in the seventeenth and eighteenth century through the manufacture of malt and glass and by trading in wool and corn.
The port also supplied the city of London with grain and timber.
