Reading lies at the convergence of the Kennet and Thames River between Swindon and London in the South East of England.
This large town, which once had strong royal connections, is now an important commercial hub and has a vast student population.
The population in the suburban region of the town is 232,662 and in the borough approximately 143,000. This makes it the seventeenth largest settlement in England based on its urban area of 40.40 km.
There are many multinational companies, insurance companies, commercial buildings and IT firms in the Thames Valley, of which Reading is the capital.
It has a dry and warm climate and there is plenty of sunshine making it a popular tourist destination.
There are many things to do in Reading such as taking river trips or cruises on the Thames River or shopping at the huge pedestrian street on the Broad Street, which has several shopping complexes.
