Amesbury is a civil parish and small town located in the Salisbury district, Wiltshire County in England, UK.
It lies on the northern side of Salisbury, at about 8 miles away. The famous ancient historical site ‘Stonehenge’ is situated in this town.
The site is listed under the UNESCO World Heritage Site list.
The presence of Stonehenge has made this site extremely popular amongst tourists. The town has got its name from the burial site of Amesbury Archer.
The town of Amesbury experiences a typical maritime-temperate climate. Since it is located in the South–West region of England, the summers are warm, while the winters are mild. The air masses in this region carry moist and warm air.
