The Bodmin & Wenford Railway is an enjoyable ride on the steam engine which has first class dining coaches and holds special events on the weekends, festivals and other occasions.
There is an engine shed, a refreshment room and a souvenir shop in the renovated station building. St. Petroc’s Church is the largest parish church in the country and contains the relics of Saint Petroc who lies in the south aisle wall.
This 12th century structure has a large font which is covered by intricate carvings and the courtyard has a holy well which has medicinal properties.
Bodmin Jail which was built in 1779 is set across three acres of land and gives insight into the gruesome public executions that took place here along with ghost stories made up by the tourists and other people.
Shire Hall & Bodmin Museum has some fascinating photos of the local life of the people and gives an insight of the social history of the place.
The Shire Hall near the museum was a law court house and is popular for the re-enactment of a law case which actually took place here.
