Along with Christchurch in the East and Poole in the West, Bournemouth forms the South East Dorset conurbation. Towards the Northeast of the town towards Hurn lies the Bournemouth International Airport. Towards the Northeast is the settlement of Ferndown and towards the Northwest is the small town of Wimborne.
