Dunster Castle is a major tourist attraction in this village. The castle lies on a sharp high hill, from where the village can be viewed. There is a steep wooded path towards the castle. There are two gatehouses in front of the castle.
One was built in the 15th century, while the other is part of the ruins of the first Norman castle. Butter Cross is yet another famous historical site in Dunster. It is a stony structure that dates back to the late 14th century.
It was the ancient meeting place for people selling butter.
Conygar Tower is located on Conygar Hill in Dunster. The Crown Estate owned this tower, built only for decoration in 1775, by Henry Fownes. The Dolls Museum is situated on the Hugh Street in Dunster.
It is situated in the Memorial Hall in the village.
There are various types of dolls in this museum, ranging from those wearing traditional clothes to fashionable dolls and Sasha dolls.
