The Westbury and Frome towns are situated near Warminster. The name of the town has been derived from the original name ‘Minster on the Were’. In this, Minster is the church, which lies on the banks of River Were.
The River Were flows through the town. It also passes through the centre of the town park. The new name ‘Warminster’ first appeared in early days of 10th century.
The population of the town is 30,100 as per the 2001 census. The densely populated town is located in the South-West part of England. Hence, this area is dominated by a maritime temperate climate. It brings warm summers and mild winters. Tourists can visit this place at any time throughout the year.
