St Ives is a colourful seaside town located in the Penwith district of Cornwall, England. Often described as an artists’ paradise, the city houses a population of about 12,000 inhabitants. With alluring small houses, narrow streets and beautiful beaches, it is a major tourist destination in England.
Characterised by a Mediterranean climate, the city has mild temperatures in every season, including summers and winters. Precipitation is received throughout the year in short showers.
Established in the fifth century AD, the town is said to be named after St Ives, the city’s patron saint. Formerly a fishing port, St Ives has now become an internationally renowned holiday spot. Fishing, agriculture and tourism bring in the revenues for the city.
